Where From Here – Webinar Series

November 12: Our COVID-19 conversation series will take on a broader range of questions about the new normal.  We will expand our focus at the same time that we continue to monitor and share best practices and updates in responding to the pandemic. That said, we kicked off with an update on C19, and were honored to be rejoined by Dr. Rachel Gordon, specialist in infectious diseases, Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology, and Assistant Dean of Curricular Affairs at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She provides medical insight into the pandemic and the new vaccine developments during a conversation with Orrick’s Lisa Lupion and Annette Hurst, who explain what this means for companies and the return to the workplace.

June 17: Even before the onset of COVID-19, higher education institutions had generally been facing increased litigation activity, regulatory scrutiny, employment issues, and financial pressure due to decreased enrollment, while taking on more complicated and sophisticated financial transactions. COVID-19 has exacerbated these problems and brought on new ones such as negatively impacting endowments and investments in a material way and the onset of class action lawsuits relating to tuition refunds and other matters. To that end, Orrick’s Higher Education Focus Group, has assembled a panel for a special Orrick and Bond Buyer hosted webinar to both provide some market intelligence and educate higher education institutions on some of our thinking on these problems.
